Aron Scott

Our April 2018 Spotlight Athlete of the Month is 17-year-old Aron Scott. Aron is an all-star senior, basketball player at Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Having started playing basketball at the age of three, Aron found his passion for the game early in life. Playing between the forward position and center, Aron gives 100% every time he hits the court. Practicing 7 days a week, he is always striving to hone in on his strengths, to improve his weakness, and to ultimately be better than he was the day before. During the summer, Aron plays AAU basketball with the FWB Thunder. To him, the FWB Thunder isn’t just a team, it’s a “brotherhood.” Basketball is a team sport, where teammates have to know and trust each other. From the moment Aron joined the FWB Thunder, he knew it was more than just basketball. The relationships he built and the friendships he made, helped to shape the team into a dominate force to be reckoned with on the court. It was all for one and one for all. They weren’t just a team, but a family. A family that enjoyed playing hard, learning the game, traveling across the country, and of course winning. After graduating in May, Aron plans to play collegiate ball while earning his college degree. His goal is to one day be a sport analyst and physical therapist. Aron plans to make his mark in the sports world, and we, at Top Choice Athletics, can’t wait to watch him succeed. We are honored to celebrate and congratulate Aron Scott as our April 2018 Spotlight Athlete of the Month.

When asked about his favorite athlete, Aron named retired NBA professional, Bernard King. Playing 14 years in the NBA, Bernard was an explosive, high-scoring, small forward. He finished his NBA career with 19,655 points in 874 games, which averages to 22.5 points per game. Bernard earned numerous awards throughout his professional career and was honored to have his jersey number retired at the University of Tennessee in 2007.

Similar to Bernard King, Aron Scott is explosive on the court, helping his team to win through his scoring abilities. Having scored a high of 34 points in the high school game, and 46 points all time, Aron is definitely one to watch when near the goal. Other personal records include 25 rebounds in a single game, and 8 blocks. Aron has also received numerous awards, such as the Hal Wyatt award for leadership at FWBHS his junior year, all-area first team his junior year, all-area second team his sophomore year, NWF shootout 2017 MVP, and numerous Athlete of the Week recognitions. And as a side-note, Aron is also an all-star Track and Field athlete, earning all country-district and district champion in the High Jump (during his fist year as a jumper). There’s no denying Aron’s outstanding athletic abilities, and like his idol, Bernard King, he too will one day have his name written in the record books.

When asked to give advice to younger athletes, Aron had some inspiring words of wisdom to provide: “THINK BIG! Always be true to the person God made. Be kind, it will take you places your talents can’t. Listen and respect your parents!” Aron is truly a gifted athlete, who is not only talented but humble and kind and respectful. We, at Top Choice Athletics, are proud to honor this young man, and we are excited for what lies ahead for his future.

Congratulations to Aron Scott, our April 2018 Top Choice Athletics’ Spotlight Athlete of the Month!
