Our June 2016 Spotlight Athlete of the Month is Josh Williams. Josh is a rising basketball star out of Shalimar, Florida. At 15 years old, he plays point guard for both the varsity Choctawhatchee (Choctaw) High School and for the 16U AAU Basketball team, Fort Walton Thunder. Josh knew he had a special gift when, at the age of 12, he scored 88 points during a double header basketball game (44 points each game). But he gives all the credit to his dad for introducing him to basketball at the age of 3. In the future, Josh plans to play D-1 college basketball. We look forward to seeing Josh play in college, and of course the NBA. Congratulations, Josh. Top Choice Athletics wishes you all the best!
Josh’s favorite basketball player is Chris Paul. Like Chris Paul, Josh has had many accomplishments during this basketball career. He has been named All-Country, Mr. Assist, and was the MVP of his 8th grade season. He was also the Co-MVP at the Future 150 camp in Atlanta, GA. We know there are many more accomplishments in Josh’s future, and we look for forward to watching him grow into the basketball star he is destined to become.
When asked to give advice to younger athletes looking up to him, Josh simply has this to say… YCCTG. Y-ou C-an’t C-heat T-he G-rind! Remember hard work pays off.
